Just wondering what some simple things i can do to get some more power outa my old 7.3 are

Get a pyrometer gauge and turn up the injection pump. I turned mine up one flat but I wouldn't go any more without a pyro gauge. straight pipe and I think that's about it without going to a turbo.

GAUGES FIRST!! Open exhaust, turbo, headers, a better air intake, adjust IP, might be time for injectors, and return lines.

Yup I agree. I love the idi but it deff ain't something u can squeeze a ton of power out of. I have heard of custom injector pumps and high hp injectors for them but not totally sure. If u do turn up the ip make sure u keep an eye in the pyro don't let her get up any higher then 1200degrees other wise u'll melt holes in ur pistons

cut the soup bowl out of the intake and yes moose and DPS make bigger injectors and its 1450 when pistons start melting and all aluminum
