How come the PSD flywheel won't work? its the same 10 bolt pattern.....i don't know if the bolts are bigger or not but its the same pattern, the only SMF i can find is for $1000 and theres no way i can afford that and napa doesn't sell them here........so i was just curiose why it wouldn't work the flywheel off the PSD looks like a regular flywheel to me haha

I'm not sure why it wont work, but every thing I have read on the subject says it cant be used. It could be a balancing issue, I just found out the factory turbo IDI's have a differently balanced flywheel than the N/A IDI's. I would check e-bay for a clutch kit, southbend clutch is supposed to be top quality stuff, but pricey.

the install was not easy to say the least.....my exhaust from the manifolds to the turbo i had to modify everything because the trans is taller but other than a few little things it wasn't bad and i have it in now i'm just waiting for my intercooler piping so i can finish everthing up and drive it....i'll take some pics as soon as i get a chance

hey again guys.....sry i haven't posted pics yet been busy...my new problem is i finished my intercooler piping and trans and everything but when i took it for a drive my boost gauge no longer works, i tried everything and i even changed the gauge but it doesn't move at all....there are no leaks in the line to the gauge and its not kinked.....i'm pretty sure its getting boost but its hard to tell.....seems like its blowing more black smoke than it did before but again its hard to tell its been awhile since i drove it.I have no leaks on any of my piping.... I know i have a small exhaust leak on my pass side header/pipe connection. and i am wondering since i put the intercooler on if it droped the pressure enough to where the gauge won't work because i never ran that much boost around town anyways .......thanks to all

You will lose some boost pressure, but you shouldn't lose that much. Is it hooked to the same location as before? You may also be surprised how much a small exhaust leak can affect boost as well.

yeah i didn't think i would lose that much.....I had to use the banks intake hat that was on it cuz i couldn't find another one to fit but this one works i just turned it...i found another exhaust leak last night where the pipe goes above the trans to the turbo so i have to cut the floor up again to get to the bolts so after that there won't be any leaks i fixed the other one..i will post some pics of the setup a little later. thanks again guys

well i have all the exhaust leaks fixed and my boost gauge seems to be working so i'm going to change back to my other gauge cuz i know that one works good.truck seems to be getting all the boost its supposed to still a little more black smoke than before but i can tell now its getting boost.I'll post pics a little later after i finish re-doing my exhaust.
