Who Says A Turbocharged Mechanical 7.3 Can't Make Power
Well I asked and showed a bunch of guys who know there international IDI's, and it isnt one. Its a powerstorke converted to run a mechanical IP and injectors. They said if you look close at the heads, you can see the high pressure oil passage plug. They said the pump looks like a Bosch P-7100 pump.
still injected mechanically......he was supposed to have a mack v8 pump but they switched to 2 4bt cummins pumps. all i know is that he pretty much cleaned house at washington court house by about 30 feet........
For as much as he has in that I would hope so. He had right around 100K in the engine the first time and turned it into a bunch of paper weights last year. Block is filled solid, only thing PSD left on it was the block. Heads were custom along with everything else I have been told. Very impressive truck to say the least. He is like everyone else though has good days and bad.
heads have to be stock castings, they got the oil rail milled off, DHRA wont allow them to run aftermarket heads, yeah he broke it at wilmington but he beat the cummins trucks at by 6 feet....
