i use to have an 05 cummins with some power goodies and it was a cool truck sold it to buy a ring............ i know. but i bought a 86 6.9 diesel with a banks turbo set up and honest its slow smokey and louder than hell but i wouldnt trade it for the world. the key is t get a well maintained idi. cavatation is an issue with these old beaters. but mine was well maintained and i stil have put a couple hundred into it so it would run better. my injection pump is weak and and injectors need changed but i still get like 15mpg. they are awesome you wont miss the cummins

idi''s are great trucks if you have a turbo if not then forget about going uphill's or having any sort of power.
