welcome to diesel bombers could be your transfer pump if like you said not much fuel coming out when you crank it could be the line between your tank and pump but if it was running fine before it stalled do a double check on your transfer pump

Unless someone put in an electric pump, there is only a diaphram transfer pump on the block of the IDI trucks...no inline or tank pump.

There is a vane pump in the injection pump though.... If you took the line off at the filter head you should have a pretty good flow of fuel coming out.

how much fuel is in the tanks? duel tank or single? could also be a crack in hard line running down framrail letting air in.

replaced fuel transfer pump put rubber line into fuel can truck ran fine when i tied into fuel tanks truck stalled there are no cracks in line coming from transfer block valve on the frame so i am wondering if that valve is bad ? priced one from ford kind of expensive. does anyone make one aftermarket? and i may just by pass valve by cutting lines and if that does not work i have to drop tanks anyway any advice

I just had the same problems mine turned out to be the switching valve. (from tank to tank) You can get bypass tubes from the auto parts store. one more thing to check is if it still has the factory water separator. Good luck.
