I have a buddy thats got a 1994 ford turbo diesel non powerstroke, its an idi. The seals in the turbo have gone bad and we are having a hard time finding a rebuild kit. Its a garret turbo, but I dont know the model. We need a rebuild kit because buying a new turbo isnt really an alternative right now due to lack of economic funds. Does anyone have a good idea on where to get a turbo rebuild kit for these motors?

 

Try J & H Diesel at Turbo Parts . Look on your compressor or the cold side for a metal tag with part numbers on it before you call them. Garrett made them for IH and the ATS designed Ford factory kit IIRC. If the truck is down right now you can just pull the Turbo. There may not be a lot of differen$e between sending it in to J & H for a refresh/repair and doing it yourself. Good luck.
