idi's run hot at factory levels especially non turbos, they can get to scary temps with just a 1/4 turn on the pump. if you have a bunch of black smoke you damn sure need a pyro.

hood stacks are not impossible i would imagine a talented exhaust shop could do it. but if you look there is next to nothing for room around the manifold area either side. i have only seen that done on cummins puller trucks. but they have all kinds of room and only one exh outlet.

if you want the truck to live you might as well back the pump off, especially since its naturally aspirated......it IS going to melt.....PERIOD....

Get you a hypermax turbo or banks turbo turn the injection pump down to stock and then a slight adjust meant

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

also you need to adjust your timing and retard it slightly

or an ats turbo, i think banks is done making stuff for the idi's. the ats kit is who ford used to make all the factory turbo idi's in 93-94 btw.

retarding timing is going to sap the much needed power from idi's.

i was told if you turn the injection pump up you need to slightly retard it not enough to evn really effect if just the all the more fuel is there when the sylinder fires off? Maybe i heard wrong ? no trying to miss lead anyone?

3 turns, OMG thats nuts, I bet if you get in it and stay in it for 30 seconds she will melt down, with a half turn on my old 7.3 idi truck she would go 1400 real fast
