Default What Can I Do

ok guys i want to do a resto mod to a project truck. its a 55 ford f250 that will be made into a F-350 dually 4x4. it will be getting a F-350 dually 4x4 chassis 5spd.

The plan is to do a diesel powerplant. currently powerstrokes are still expensive even '94-97.

though i can find 7.3 IDI for cheap. so if i want to blow smoke, build some nice power with stacks etc. what can i do to a 7.3 IDI

Bout the only thing you can do with a 7.3 IDI is replace it with a different engine. All you can do with those engines is advance the timing. You'll get a little smoke, but it's still gutless.

yeah definately get the 7.3 PS, either that or get a 12v and stick in there, that thing would be a BAMF if you put a Cummins in it

i know hypermax supposedley made a 1200 HP IDI 7.3 liter powerstrokefor sled pulling and ran 8 second 1/4 miles in the early 90's.

Twin Turbos , 15.1 compression all the goodies that is standard today but very exotic back then. the only problem the engine flexed so much under launch that it cracked in half.

so that IDI you want does have potential just will cost you a lot of money and custom parts
