1994 7.3 worth the hassle?
I was given a truck with a 7.3 natural, the only caveat is I have to pay the back tags on it, roughly $800.00 bucks to get it up to date. Considering I do not know much about these motors, based on the following I would like to know what everyone thinks if its worth the hassle or not.
The motor has 325K on it and I did an SCA test of the coolant which showed little to no additives present. The coolant looks good visually and is the green coolant. I pressure tested the coolant system, but the results are not reliable. By that I mean it did leak down but I never had time to rule out that my adapter was sealed properly.
The return lines are leaking, the previous owner gave me the kit to fix that.
The power steering lines are leaking, they seem fairly cheap as long as the steering box and pump aren't leaking.
There is a trans leak, however I think that is a hose up front.
The truck does start easy, and runs okay. What is everyone's opinion on this? Wasting my time on this project or worth it?
