Default '94 IDI 7.3: Grey oil?!!!

Howdy all! I just bought a '94 7.3 IDI with 90K miles on it. Runs like a top and in great shape. Spent a long time parked over the years as it was primarily used as a tow vehicle. When I inspected the thing, I checked to see if it had oil --it sure did.

However, upon further inspection today once it's home, the oil level is WAY above the "full" mark and it's plenty "grey" -- almost matching the color of the block.

Looks like coolant contamination. the coolant is full and fresh green. The truck ran plenty cool when I rolled around in it. However, I did a pretty aggressive pressure wash on the engine once I brought it home....and I know that the oil cooler can get worn out with the seals and whatnot.

I've already ordered a new set of gaskets and o rings from Rock Auto to rebuild the oil cooler.

Questions:

1.) Does anyone have a good link that describes how to rebuild it?
2.) Is it possible my pressure washing got water in the engine?
3.) Since there's absolutely no evidence of oil in the coolant, does it portend one or the other -- meaning likely a cooler that needs re-sealed....or I somehow got water in the engine from the pressure wash?

I'm confused as it seems like most of the cooler failures seem to suggest that oil is getting in the coolant. I have exactly the opposite problem it seems.

ACK! THANK YOU SO MUCH for everyone on these boards that lends time and expertise. You really help me sleep easier at night when I've shelled out thousands for a "new" truck which throws me for a loop!
