Saying hello
Thought I would post this here also as I will probably spend most of my time in this section of the forum.
After buying an '88 7.3 IDI with tons of issues the guy didn't tell me about, (ran like a scalded *** ape and about pulled as hard as my father in laws '95 turbo 7.3) I am the new owner of this killer oddball!
1985 F-250 super cab, 6.9 IDI with a Ford dealership installed Hypermax turbo, full Hypermax exhaust system and a 2spd auxilliary gear box mounted under the bed of the truck. Oh yeah, it's a 4spd truck also.
Other than some rust rot around the roof at the corners the body is flawless sans needing a paint job. It drives straight as an arrow, no front end issues, no leaks on the motor or tyranny at all, power steering or anything. Converted AC already and still has the stock hubcaps on it. Ford also installed this crazy roof mounted console for his CB back in the day.
I've never seen an auxilliary gear box in a pickup like this and needed a good truck to haul old cars as when I'm not playing music here in Austin tx I buy/sell old iron and fix em up.
Out if all the forums out there this one has been the most helpful with these old beasts and suits my personality. Now I was offered today an '86 f-250 dually 6.9 with an ATS turbo that's been sitting for 4 years with immaculate interior. Hard to pass it up at the price offered!
