Will that keep everything nice and warm? Including the oil? I also dont want to scorch the coolant with the 6.9 needed precise coolant to prevent cavatation.

No .... You'll have to idle it for a few minutes to warm up the oil ... I typically do a idle and walk around ... Just to look things over right quickly .... About 1 min is all that's needed ... It will warm up quickly..:tu:

Did you put yours in yourself?

Dortiz 03-14-2014 09:13 PM

Same here, start her up in the mornings, but I let it idle for about 5 minutes while I finish getting ready. Never need to plug it in out here in the valley of Arizona

I have installed several ... not that hard to do .... just drain block, unscrew and snake it out .... reverse the order to install new one .. :c:

I read somewhere that all of the Ford diesels have block heaters and that mine may just be missing the cord. I guess all I can do it look to see.

4x4manonbroke 03-19-2014 07:02 PM

you will need to buy a new one if the cord is missing .... the plugs are probably corroded and such .... there fairly cheep ... 40-50 bucks ... :c:

ZakAttack 03-20-2014 12:51 PM

Im just confused on to why the cord was ever removed if there is one on it. Have you ever heard that they all have heaters?

Dortiz 03-20-2014 02:45 PM

Couple be multiple reasons, I'm debating on removing mine cause it moved in the way of my fan one day at the gas station and cause my powersteering belt to go out :argh:
