Default Replaced 6.9 injector seals, now won't start

Hey gents, I just installed the 6.9 return line repair kit and now the beast won't start. My first thought is the injection pump, but I put the dowel back in the same spot when I took it off. I bled the injectors until fuel was leaking out of the fuel rail, hopefully purging all the air out of the lines. I am frustrated and tired and not sure what I did wrong. If my injection timing is off by even a few degrees, it should still start shouldn't it? It may not run perfect, but I thought that if it's even off by a little bit it should still run. The only other thing I can think of is that I unplugged it from the block heater while I was working on it, and it just got cold, so I'm plugging it in for the night and revisiting it tomorrow. Any thoughts?

BTW now when it cranks no white smoke comes out like it usually does when it's cold.

update: went out this morning to try to start the beast. It has been on the block heater all night. Cranked and cranked until it fired up and then died. Re bled the fuel lines, plus there's white smoke coming out now, which I think means it's getting fuel. So that must mean the Injection Pump timing is off?

update: fixed the problem, turned out I had set the injection pump timing on the exhaust stroke. After I reset the timing the correct way, she fired right up like the beast that she is. With the new return lines installed she has a lot more power than I expected, a lot louder and more torque. This was a great resource that helped me get the timing right "Talk about Timing!!". What really helped is loosening the no 1 glow plug all the way so you can listen for the air escaping like the write up says. That really helped to find the compression stroke!
