i kno im bringing up a topic on a gas engin but my questions are on the tranny being as they are the same for the idi's. im putting a new engin/trans in my swamp buggy. 1990 460 mated to an e4od. the engin is efi which im changing over to carb thats not my issue, my issue is that i didnt realize till just now that the tranny is controled by the ecm being thsat the engin is efi so when i swap it to carb and remove all the ecm the tranny wont shift on its own so leads me to this, i kno my 7.3l idi had no comp and was mated to an
e40d, so im thinking if i can get ahold of the wireharness for that set up i could put it on the trans and it shuld then work with my soon to be carb 460. any body kno if that will actually work? and if so where do i get the harness? thanks, sorry to bring up gas motors in our diesel fourm
