Default Certain procedure to change glowplugs

Hey i got a 94 idi turbo that i needa change glow plugs in. Ive done plenty of changes on powerstrokes. just never on an idi. Ive been told to put each piston at tdc for every plug your changing. is this good precaution or standard procedure on these trucks. will they drop in to the pre combustion chamber if not careful?

never heard of the tdc thing the are more like changing sparkplugs, but its impossible to get to the two under the turbo without removing or atleast.but do not buy cheapo autolites glowplugs i like bosch never had an issue it 3 years, autolites will swell and break off loosening it.id use a little anit seize on the install.becareful with the plug ins also very easy to break off

10mm? or 8mm? socket (1/4 in drive), 1/4 in swivel, long 1/4 in extension, 1/4 in drive rachet, and some never-seize (anti-seize). Everyone I know STRONGLY recommends Motorcraft (Beru) glow plugs.
