Default Hey

I'm not really familiar with the older ones but 6 ohms isnt to bad for the newer ones. Have you checked the relay?

Default Well

If its like the ones on the newer 7.3's you will always have 12v on the battery side and when you turn the key on you will have 12v on the gp side. Now I have never worked on the older ones so i'm not sure what they have but thats a start. I spend my days on 95 and up 7.3's, 6.0's and 6.4's. Too young for idi's and 6.9's!

Default Um

to test the glow plug side of the relay you will have to do what ever it takes to activate the glow plug relay. If on the older models thats a button you will have to push that.

Run a 12v hot lead from bat + to the trigger side of the relay. That should turn it on...

They have a 14 second maximum on time if the controller is working correctly.
