Default burned out glow plug

Hi all, I have my 1990 f350, I was forced to put champion glow plugs in it two years ago, and and it wasnt starting right, so i tested the glow plugs and 1 was bad, no ohms and no lite on the test lite, I suspect the contoller caused it to go bad. One question though, Is the the controller supossed to turn off after engine is warm? Why do they not turn off when it's warmed up???

Yes the controller is, you may have a bad controller. Accurate Diesel sells the best controllers for the truck.

When you turn the key on the glow plug controller will come and cycle the plugs on for 10sec. Then it will cycle on and off for 10 sec. The on off cycle helps keep from burning out the glow plugs while keeping the cylinders warm. If you have one glow plug bad then the time the controller will stays on will shorten by a small amount, then if another glow plug goes bad then the time will shorten again.

I have a 2000 7.3 with only 78,xxx miles. all my glow plugs are reading 0.1-0.3 ohms. does this mean they are weak and I should replace them?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I just picked 8 brand new ZD-11 and they all ohm the same as my old ones 0.3 ohms. I tested a new set of autolites and they tested at 0.9-1.4 ohms. every thing I have read said 0.8-1.8 ohms are good.
any help would be good here.
