Kicker has entry level subs just as anybody would. I am not a fan of the Comps or Comp VRs. I love the L5s, L7s and Solo X!

well i went and bought 5 and a half type r alpines for the back doors and a six and a half kit for the front that comes with the tweaters and the little black boxs
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. there is the kit i bought
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. these are the ones in the back door
a local shop gave them to me for $410 next will be these in a custom box installed out the door for $1300
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
i think i will just go with a single ten in the back and powered by an alpine amp that will run all the door speakers as well, when they install that i am going to rip out all the infinity amps feel free to comment

I would suggest a 4 channel amp for the surrounds and a mono block amp for the sub. Or you can try a 5.1 channel amp. I wouldn't run them all off a single 4 channel amp tho.... just my .02 cents

the guy at the shop was telling me about this amp that would run everything off of it, it was by alpine but i dont remember the call number, have you guys ever heard of these and is it better to just go with two amps one for the subs one for the rest of the speakers?
why would you not run them off of a four channel amp?

Because different tuning needs to take place on the surrounds vs the sub. You need low frequencies to go to the sub only, and keep the surrounds to mid and highs. Can't really achieve that with a single 4 channel amp and provide the necessary amount of power they all need.

H.R.D. pretty much summed up everything perfectly!!! The type R's are a MASSIVE sub so they probably wont fit under your seat... But I personally have a set of 10" type R's and they are one the best sounding subs I have heard for the price! Same with 6x9 type R's which I have hooked up to a 4 channel amp
