Ok so here is my idea.... I have a 2000 4x4 5spd quad cab 210k miles... And I found a2006 mega cab 4x4 auto, laramie small lift 100k miles.(really good deal)... What would be the pros and cons between the 2.....?

i'm never going back to a small cab truck....

 

So your obviously a mega cab guy... Is the mega really worth it?... And what are your thoughts on the drive train differences..??

 

to me the megacab is worth every penny, we traded a 07 Aspen limited for the SRW one and we have more room. i love being able to put a carseat in with the seat all the way back.

the 5 spd has its own lil problems like 5th gear nut / main shaft spline issues but its a tuff trans no doubt. the 48RE thats in the 06 isnt that bad of a trans i have one in my DRW truck and i've beat on it pretty good and its still going but it is starting to show some signs of slipping in 2nd gear, granted it is totally stock. if the trans is in good shape you can do a good TC and VB and that trans will hold alot better then most think it will. they are considerably better then the 47RE's of the past (i have one of those in the 01 truck)

bonus of the 06 is you can now get EFI Live for it and an added bonus since its an auto trans is that in the next release of EFI Live they are releasing the trans tuning tables which is going to be a huge advatage for the auto trans trucks. its going to allow you to program 2nd gear lockup and all your shift points.

How much are they asking for the Mega Cab??

 

Its a 2006 3500 srw laramie (leather and all the options), auto, mineral grey, 20 inch wheels, mild lift, good tires, 100k miles, 24k

 

I have my 98 with 220K on it Im happy with her I would marry her if I could... I just wish I had a 5spd or a 6spd in her but I want a fummins so shes kickin *** for now...
