Default Defrost Isn't Working

This morning I start my truck and let it defrost but I only have defrost working on drivers side. Everything else blows on both sides. What gives?

I'm having similar problem: Fan only blows out of vents, seems A/C is always on. Been told it's either the door to select location of air, the actuator motor or possibly vacuum pump.

Generally when you have a problem with these vent doors they only blow out of the defrost. They are vaccuum operated and designed to default to the defrost vents when something goes wrong, this is for safety purposes. So to not be able to geet air out of the defrost is rare. Almost gotta be something blocking them which would mean pulling the dash I suspect.

Check to make sure the actuator is free, look under the drivers side of the dash and you will see if up under there above the floor vents, you can actuate it by hand.

I'll check the actuator but I would think its alright because it will go to vents floor and to defrost. Blows good on every setting but defrost. Can't figure why it would only blow on defrost on drivers side. I guess it could be worse and only blow on passengers side Thanks for the replies. If it isn't the actuator I'm not pulling the dash until spring.

If it gets to that - make sure you change the heater core while you are in there.

Actuator is free as I figured because it will switch between defrost vents and floor. What I don't understand is why do I have air blowing in all vents (both sides) on everything but defrost where it only blows on drivers side. I've never had a dash out before to see how the system actually works. Looks as tho this Spring I'm about to
