I have replaced several wheel studs through the years and always had problems gettin them from the aftermarket shops. The ones they always tried to sell me were to short and the knuckle wasnt big enough to hold tight in the hub so I ended up havin to put a few tack welds to hold em in place. Finally found the secret. You have to ask for the 1 ton studs and they are the right ones. The 3/4 ton studs they sell are for the gasser version of the truck that runs a Dana 70 rear end.

 

the gas 3/4 ton dodges use a dana 60 rear axle, only the cummins and V10 trucks got the 70, or 80 if the cummins was a 5 speed, and all 1 tons got 80's.....

 

Im just guessing here - but, Im pretty sure Dana 70 and Dana 80 studs are the same. And no Im not taking a wheel off each truck to check - just too cold out there.

 

The ones that Auto Zone and all the other shops always tried to give me were about 3/4 inch shorter and smaller diameter in the shoulder. The threads were the same but that was it. All the stores gave me the same bolts so I know it wasn't just a bad number in anybodies system.

I'm having a hell of a time finding studs for my spacers right now. They are 9/16 studs and dont know if they are the same as the stock dodge studs.

 

Stock size is 9/16 by either 2.5" or 3" long. I have found both listed as stock length.

This is for 4WD, don't know nothin about 2WD.

 

How much are they? They wanted $108.76 for 16 of them hear.

 

$11 a piece from the dealer or under $2 each from Auto Zone today.

They are Dorman brand from Auto Zone and the stock number is 610-383.1

OEM stock number is 4746915
