thats the way fab everything!! fabbing is the only thing that makes these trucks stand out! they are a dime a dozen and everyone uses the same thing because it is cheapest or the best way to get power! but when you fab something no one esle's is quite the same!!
if you do it sent some pics. it would be cool to see what it would look like..

I am currently trying to put 2011 tow mirror glass in my 02 tow mirrors on my 2000. They have a bigger blind spot mirror and I like it alot better when pulling one of the trailers.

What I think is funny is in the fleet of trucks I service, we have 9 CR cummins trucks, all with tow mirrors and anytime I have to drive them i always flip em up because a four door longbox is a long *** truck to see behind, Especially the two duallys we have with full width flatbeds with toolboxes right at the edge all the way back and up to cab height. Idk how the formans see anything behind em but they sure hate when i screw up their mirrors and seats on my truck i have the chrome "tripod" mirror mounts, took the Little mirrors that came on it off and bolted on some big ford style 10x7 inch fold outs, with them on the outside. I think with how there set they converge about ten feet behind the truck

I don't have towing mirrors on my truck i feel left out . I plan on ordering some though soon. But I'd always have them up. IMO it looks better.

I always have mine down until I'm towing something. They just stick out too far for my taste when driving around through town. They still look better than regular mirrors when they're down.
