It's only for the automatics on the '11.5 models ..... 350hp and 800 lb/ft of torque.

Supposedly its available in 4th, 5th, and 6th gears.

2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Powertrain

The ECM update on the '11.5 trucks is only for torque, since it was announced at the Chicago Auto Show that it would remain at 350hp:

Chicago Auto Show: Ram increasing HD diesel power ratings

The additional 40hp you're talking about is done "through shift points, a new torque converter, and ECM/PCM programming to make an additional 40hp available while driving at cruising speeds". It's not an increase in 40hp, they're finally figuring out that there are parts of the drivetrain that were horrible at handling the power this engine can put out.

The new torque availability, TC, and 4th/5th/6th gears being able to use that torque ties into these upgrades ..... Dodge figured out that locking the TC does work, like some of us have proven with our own upgrades.
