I'm assuming the air filter doesn't have any oil residue from somthin spilling on it or anything. I know there has to be oil seals in the turbo itself because the hose going into the top of it is an oil feed tube used to lube and help cool the turbo but I have never heard of one leaking myself.

you can suck oil thru the seal. not sure on a 3rg gens , but have heard of it before on older truck and older turbos. but i would clean it off and see if it comes back. and see how long it takes. if it is quik. might want to get it looked at!

happend to me.. but mine was due to over oiling my old k&n.

The PCV system causes this. We have the same problem with the DMax to the point that the lower intercooler boot will blow off because of the oil circulating through the system. The PCV system is pretty simple to by-pass and you can build your own with heater hose and some PVC pipe or large air regulator.

I'd like to learn more about this.

Thanks in advance.

Not on a Cummins! There is no hose from the crankcase to the intake. the 2000 dumps straight to atmosphere and the 2006 does too albeit thru an air oil seperator.

Thought I'd crawled all over this truck and didn't remember seeing anything that looked like a PCV sysytem. Isn't that the function of the over flow tube.
