Headliner Removal
Alrighty I'm gonna be fixing the sagging headliner in the 95 ext cab, I know how to get them loose. I just don't know if it's possible to get it out through either of the doors In one piece? it just seems like it'd be a big game of tetris tryin to get it out that way? Has anyone done it and how? Or is it not possible...

never had the oppurtunity to remove one but i've seen pictures of guys standing beside them with there battery powered drills you know kinda like a guy standing next to a trophy bull elk he just killed if that gives you any hint on how hard they are to get out but hey if you figure out the secret let me know mine has got to come out pretty quick

I pulled and fixed the one in my standard cab. It was tough getting it out -- I'd expect a really tough time getting the extended cab version out of the truck. It would have to bend somehow. It will have to come out the passenger side door also. No way to do it on the other side due to the steering wheel. If you can get it standing almost up and down, with one edge into the footwell area. That is about how it will have to happen.
I pulled off the factory thin cloth (left the foam backer) and glued on new fabric on my own. I used a 3M spray glue. Worked out well.
Mine is now "cow".
Seems a bit bright when you first see it, then it sort of grows on you. Some have said that it must be a "Moooooving experience" to ride in the truck.
I like it now that it is in. Works well with my other interior colors. Of course, the sky is the limit as to fabric types if you cover your own. My kiddo did his 90 suburban (blue paint) in blue jeans denim.

That's what I saw in every headliner I looked at, and why I just recovered my own.
Get our your purse and head down to Hancock Fabrics (or even a lot of Wal-Marts) and check out the material selection.
Camo, leather, what have you... Just don't get too heavy a cloth so that the weight causes other issues once the headliner is re-installed.

Yea that might be my best option... How did you get off all of the foam backing? And what did you replace it with? Or did you just put the fabric over the coated carboard without? On a side note do you have a zig zag design in the headliner?
