I have a 97 xtended cab 2500 and have been wanting to put in a fire extingusher but I want to put it in a place where it is easy to get to when needed but out of the way so your not running into it when you don't. Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks

I have mine mounted on the floor, center of the hump. sits right beside the 4 wheel selector. It's easy for either driver or passenger to get too. It's basically dead space for me, having the cup holder folded out all the time.

i had mine mounted between the seats under the window in my truck. my center console was never in the up position so it wasn't in the way.... that won't work for an extended cab..... how about on the hump behind the front seats unless the extended cab is is constantly packed.....

I must keep bigger ones then most of the other guys here. I mounted mine, one on each side in the bed so that they could also be accessed by others if needed. I have them mounted to the sidewall of the bed in front of the wheel humps. With the tool box back there it leaves just enough space and is dead space anyway.

Dont get defensive...but, what are you going to do with that?

Using that would be like spittin on a forest fire....JMHO.

I like between the drivers door and seat on the floor, easy access as you bail out and never in the way, plus it keeps things from sliding out from under the seat and falling out when you open your door.

I only got one because I had a calliper sticking on my 01 and I had to drive home with it sticking. It was getting really hot driving around town so I picked up a small one in case it got to hot on the way home. I did not have to use it so I just keep it there in case something happens. If I thought I would need a bigger one I would have it. For now it makes me feel better but I agree that it is small, but better to be able to slow the fire down than not have anything. I will get a bigger one eventually but for now it works.
