BD short shifter for cummins?

i don't understand the short shifter? i extended my shifter and i like it alot more than the stock one. i only did 3 or 4 inches on it and i like it alot more for racing

What do you mean by you extended your shifter? On the bd short shifters what is it thats breaking on them? Its not the actual stick is it?

Your not litterally shortening the shifter, your just changing the pivot point of it which in turn shortens the throw/stroke of the lever itself.

The Ball broke off of mine... I could get the truck in second thank god so I could gimp it home. (Happened in town thank god)

You might try getting a shift leaver out of a junk yard and cut it off a little at a time till you get the short shift you want. This way you will still have your shifter that you can put back at any time === Good Luck

Ive had my BD shifter in my '98 for about a year now. Shift pattern is a lot shorter, ball is better placed (closer to me) and I don't miss gears anymore. Good mod

The PacBrake Short Shifter seems to be a little better setup.
