Default Fender Flair ???

So I am tiered of my 15.5 wides hammering my paint. Of course I expected it to, but my problem is I cant bring myself to pay almost $500 for the Bushwacker pocket flares. I like the style and the look, but the construction BLOWS for that price. Charge me $250 for molded plastic and I might not be disgruntal, but almost 5, they are HIGH!

I like the cut-out version, gives you almost 3.5" of coverage and they are way cheaper, but I have heard they are called cut outs, becuase you obviously have to cut the fender well open for them to fit....Anybody install these? Do you hack you truck to pieces or a simple trim that any semi-educated person could do???

My other problem is, they don't seem to offer the cut out version for the 08??? Anybody know the last year they made the cut outs for...I think 05-06? Bushwacker has not replied to me in over a month on that. I was wondering if the fender demension and angles would match from say an 05-06 to an 08?

Or should I just swallow the pill and settle for 2.5" of $500 junk plastic???

Well Mike, If your truck wasnt so redneck, you wouldnt have this problem. Haha just jokin buddy! I know there is a place in Tacoma called, Olympic Offroad. I've dealt with them in the past when i had that dump of a Power CHOKE!!! They are very helpful and would help you find what your looking for.

You can cut and section the cut outs so you dont need to cut your box sides and fenders. After you get the peices to fit like you want them to glass them back together. Put fill over it so you can sand them smooth and then paint. This is very time consuming and a major pain in the **** but its doable. Ill see if the body man has pics of it and postem.
