Default oil change

yup, another 10,000 k has come, time for new oil only this time I did the diffs and tranny also. did not do the t-case as its only 3 months old, just checked the level and color. needless to say the diffs were black, tranny wasn't too bad, engine was getting dark. shell rotella t for engine, dodge nv3500 (14.99/L) for tranny and good old 75/90 for diffs with that fiction stuff for the rear diff. ahhh, I love the smell of fresh rotella from my breather first thing in the morning

$14.99 A LITRE?

I believe you could have went with ATF +3 - its MUCH cheaper.

BTW, welcome to the site - we dont have a lot of guys from Edmonton here...

sorry the 14.99 L is the oil for the tranny. interesting looking stuff, kind of reminds me of the univus extra we use in high temp application, high horse power pump motors.

My Bad....I missed that one.

I just changed mine, used RedLine MTL from Mopac Racing...got it for less than $10 a litre.

Did you overfill it?

yes, parked it on the curb and got an extra litre in it. I had also changed out the rear seal prior to the oil change so hopefully it stops leaking, at that price I don't want to loose it between the tranny and t-case

u go 10k on a change?

i think im way overdoing it, i do mine every 3 months and usually that works out to like 2200km,, still 4 oil changes a year deosnt seem rediculous. when u look into the filler hole on your valve cover, is it kindof burnt and grungy lookin? rotella is dirt cheap, the way i change mine everything looks brandnew, might be worth it in the long run to do more frequent drains.? btw fresh rotella smell is hot, i agree.
