Default NOOB lookin for suggestions

In the market for a truck. I want to be able to pipe it so im not real excited about the 6.7 with the egr and dpf having to be deleted. I know its possible but is it a big pain in the butt? Is it worth doing when you campare the 6.7 to the 5.9? Or is the 5.9 still a rock solid power house. Not looking to make 1200 horse but 500 hp would be plenty.
Thanks!
Chris

Well a 3rd gen 5.9 would be super easy to make 500hp on (smarty, CAI, exhaust, 90hp injectors and some tranny upgrades). The 6.7s are nice but I personally wouldn't want to spend the money on the egr and dpf deletes especially since you could buy a smarty and and a nice exhaust for what those deletes cost.

I like the 5.9 because it's proven it self with power and durability. The 6.7 is ok, but i don't care for the egr and dpf garbage on them.

thats exactly what i was thinking. Plus i dont like the idea of being pulled over and having the officer look under the truck and knowing what he's looking for but its not there.....

for my deletes it cost 300 bucks. they use the piping of an 07 for them. big pain in the **** to get the downpipe off. if i had to do it again i think i would have went with a 5.9. but i love my truck now. take it for what its worth either way you wont be sorry you bought one of the other.
