Default 5.9 Liter, burned valve, cylinder and scored cylinder walls

So my head gasket started leaking, not much, just a little seep and some oil in the water. Got into the engine and found that it had a burned valve and the number four cylinder is burned and the cylinder walls are scored.
It's a 1997 with 220,000 miles on it, would it be wise to fix this engine or would I be better off finding another engine somewhere? I've considered junking the truck.

Might get lucky and find someone parting out a truck.

Default Might just part this truck out.

I think I might just part this Dodge out. It's a 1997 2500, 4X4 5.9 liter Cummins. It has a rebuilt automatic transmission, new lift pump, new turbo, new water pump, new clutch fan. The four wheel drive works like a champ.
It developed a head gasket leak, burnt the #4 cylinder, scored the cylinder walls and burned the valve. I have the head gasket kit and a gasket kit for the front cover.
I think the only way I can recoup any money from it is to sell it a piece at a time.

my rebuild i found a company on ebay and i bought a kit for $700. It had new pistons all gaskests and all the bearings needed. i think the company was called PGI but im not %100 sure. I had $600 in machine work which was hot tanking the block and bored and honed for over sized pistons and instaling the cam bearings. Its totaly up to u, u might even be able to find one in a junk yard fairly cheap
