Default Time for a change?

Well a year or so ago I bought my 02 completeley stock only to find it had a bad LP and IP. It wasnt exactly what I wanted but with my 2 year old daughter an a on that was on the way I didnt have much of a choice but to get a QC. My dream truck since I was 6 or 7 was a reg cab long bed 2500 4x4 cummins. Well i was cruising through some classified today and dropped some strong hints to the wife that i would like a 12V. My excuse was now that she has her star ship cruiser of an expedition i should get a 12V and she could drive mine to keep miles off of hers or just sell hers. Well that didnt go far so she said why dont we just sell your truck. Well I am thinking that may be exactly what I will do. As soon as I get home from Iraq I think I am gonna start pulling parts and sell it. What do you guys think? Give me some opinions here. My truck isnt brand new but it is loade leather and power everything. What all will work on a 12V from mine the turbo and stage 3 WM?

I think your breakin most peoples hearts here thinkin this stuff. With all the Smog control issues comin down the road and the ULSD problems right now on these older trucks, why go backwards. Unless your lookin for an off road only truck. With the 12V you either have them turned up and they smoke like a chimney or you are turned down and lose HP but they run clean. Can't just turn em up and down with the flip of a switch. Pretty shortly here, you aint gonna be able to smoke on the street, more and more places are crackin down on it and it's only gonna get worse. I'd love to have a 12V if I could afford a second toy, but not for a turned up daily driver.

thanks guys, I have been thinking about this ALOT. I know it sounds crazy but after driving the truck everyday It doesnt seem like that much. I am thinking about just going to an EZ with gauges instead of the juice. It just worries me about buying another VP in a year or two. It is just tempting to know I can sell mine and buy a descent 12v and have money left over to make it fly. I have also thought about if I keep it I will still need a billet output, studs,FASS. It just seems like alot more money to poor out before I have it exactly where I want it. I think I am just too picky. Maybe I will put it in the classifieds and see what kind of 3rd gen I can trade it for it might be nice to have a stock truck for a while. I just dont know what to do. I think I will just end up keeping it. Thanks for the input guys I just have TOO much time over here to think about it.

Yeah I know. The more I think about it the more I think I will just keep it. I can keep it and just do things a little different. With the juice off i made 472hp so I think If I get rid of it and go with an EZ for a little bit of timing and maybe some better sticks I could stay around 475-500hp.

Well, I have a 12V and a 24V....both have their good and bad points. The 24V does run better in the sub zero winter temps that I see. The 12V can make lots of power for cheap, but it does take a lot more tuning experience.

Not haveing to worry about lift pumps and injector pumps with the 12V sure makes me sleep better at night.

Its really a tossup. Because once you take care of the lift pump issues on the 24V the trucks are pretty much equal.

Honestly, and you probably don't want to hear this, but I'd stick with what you have. Fix the LP and IP problems with some good aftermarket stuff, and let her rock! Especially if you like the idea of the fully loaded truck you currently have. Is your current truck a long or short bed?
