Default Turndown or rear exit?

If I nix the muffler do you recommend the stock exhaust exit or a turndown?

Depends on how much you like the noise. Putting a turndown under the cab or close will make it really loud. You can run it out in front of the rear wheel and do it in 4" from the turbo to there cheap. I would just look at some of the vendors on heres 4" systems. They are pretty cheap and you wont beat the sound and performance. Or you could put a 90* elbow facing up and run a single stack through the bed.

I would just replace the muffler and use the stock exit. It will be much easier on the ears and with the edition of a nice tip, I think would look the cleanest for the small amount of time and money invested.

Really, I would atleast go to 4" since our 24v's only have 3" on them.

You can order a 4 inch system with no muff for really cheap.

I agree that 4" is the way to go, but thats not the question that was asked. If I had my way it would be 4" no muffler 5" tip.

But, some have a hard time forking out for the 4". So, with the options being cut out the muffler and dumping under the truck, in front of the tire, or stock location, I go for the stock location.

I agree on the stock location. I just removed the muffler and replaced it with the same length of pipe. I like the sound, but towing, it can get a little loud. If you're concerned about the noise, keep the tail pipe where it is.

Stock exit for sure - or stack! ..a turndown and everything under the truck will be sooted up in no time. Same thing with in fron of the wheel, you'll be cleaning soot off the wheel constantly.
