My steering box is leaking very slowly from the seal where the box comes apart I was wondering if anyone knows if Dodge would warranty that?

A friend of mine has a 06 with the G56 with about 50K on it and the top seal where the gear shifter goes in started leaking petter bad and he took it to a couple different dealers and they said it is not covered under warranty. He has the 100k bumper to bumper warranty but he had to pay for it. I think they screwed him over. What are you guys thoughts.

Any thoughts or info would be great on either question. Thanks.

 

Well if your truck falls under the 3/36 then it should be covered. The best way to answer that is contact your dealer or Dodge customer service.

As for your friend's truck I would have him look at his extended warranty paperwork or call the company and ask them why it wouldn't be covered. I know some extended warranties charge you more to cover seals and gaskets. If he didn't elect to have seals and gaskets covered then he is on the hook for any of them.

 

i know when mine was leaking the replaced the whole stearing box mine had 40000 on it

 

waranties are a joke. i mean, ya my tranny went to **** on my 01, they rebuilt it, fixed the bottuons to make my power seat move, fixed a door handle. recently fixed my vaccum pump seal and map light. but wont cover my heater core or my steering box. so i was reading the extended warranty papers. things are wored awefully funny. these things should be covered. but they wont have none of that. but they offered to do my heatercore for 700 bucks. F*** that.
