Default Lookin' for a Cummins.

I am tryin to sell my truck so I can buy a Cummins, but I still have some questions. I know a want a 3500 4x4, 6spd, crew cab and, flatbed. I am still unure if I want a 2001-2002 24 valve, 2003-04, or 04.5-07 CR. I am still in high school so I wont tow eveyday, but I haul hay, tow bobcats, and mowers in the summer. Is it worth it to get a 3500 dually if I don't tow very often during a good portion of the year? Right now I am leanin' towards the CR, but I want more opions from people the know more then I do.

Since you're still in school, my advice is go with the cheapest one available and concentrate on making your money work for you down the road. That is unless you're just super rich, in which case why ask, just go buy a new one.

As far as the trucks go, anyone will do you fine, but my advice is still not to get all your eggs in one basket so to speak by buying an expensive newer truck.

im pretty sure a 5.9 1500 will handle your needs... but a 2500 should be more than enough....

yeah he's sure. the only 5.9L in a 1500 was a 360 magnum gaser. The only 1500 with a diesel i can think of is chevy with the 6.5L turbo (yuck) I also think a solid 2500 reg cab would suit you just fine.

BUT BUT BUT IF you WANT a 3500 get one. I wish I would have went with my gut and got either a 3500 ext cab or a 2500 reg cab when I bought my 2500 club cab.

why not go with a 3500 12v since the cr is out of your price range a nice 5 spd 12v will work great and you wont have this issues with the vp truck to deal with. It will also be the best priced truck out there with plenty that can be done to gain power.
