4 wheel drive decison
ok i had some thoughts today about the four wheel drive on my truck, since dodge's are vacuum operated hubs and it is so damn slow to ingage when i put it in four wheel drive im thinking about getting one of them pac brake switches that dirrect the flow of vaccum, turn the 12v switch on vacuum flow one way turn switch off it flows the other way, them things are very responsive on my pacbrake is it safe to run vaccum to that vacuum selinoi for the fork all the time, so i can have my hubs locked when i want them like a ford
ya i really dont want the cable setup on there im to hard on the old girl, i think that switch idea would be sweet because in the winter time here im constanly shifting into 4 wheel drive it would be nice to leave them hubs locked in durring the day
only problem with that is the hubs would always be locked in then, the nice this with the switch idea is when im shifting into 4x4 i have to be moving for the fork to slide all the way if im going to fast it catches the teeth wrong and im arfraid ill snap a shaft, were with the switch idea i wouldnt have to worry about it
true true you got me sold so how exactly you planning it out I havent ever really dealt with that front end the only reason I really knew about those kits is a friend with a gasser is doing the cable one.
basical the same as the t-case switch run i line from the vacuum pump to the switch that splits one to the input and one to the out put, the switch is always in a defualt stage of one of the flows until the switch is activated by a 12v toggle then it switches the flow, stub it into your factory lines and it can either be on all the time or off all the time, will also work as a 2low reverse setup as well, win win situation
