Reflashing the ecm resets the key count to 0 and all codes. Which is what certain programmers do when you reset the ECM back to stock for warranty work. But because you didn't have one, all vital data should be like it was when new. Now, did you get the truck new, or did you buy it used??

i bought it used. but i know it doesn't have a tune on it...other wise it would have put down more than 295/540 at the tires.

But it could have. Guy that did have it, removed it before he sold the truck.

The engine should be under warranty from Cummins for 100,000 miles anyhow, you might try and take it to a different dealership

Just to clarify a little more. If you have, say 80,xxx on the truck and the key counts are at 100, it was either never down off a whole lot, or the count got reset at one point.

I meant the truck was never shut down a whole lot, and the key count got reset to 0 at one point. Truck with 80,xxx should have a key count of at least 1000. Now if they pulled the VIN and it shows that a dealer reflashed the ECM 2 months ago, 100 would seem normal. But no history under the VIN, and it throws red flags.
