hey fellas, as always you guys helped me out on my Q's, and know i got another one. Everytime i floor it (GAS Pedal), or just plain ol romp om it, i notice that my tranny never hits redline or even close to it in any gears even with the overdrive off, but if i shift it manually it will, but that only gives me the first 2 gears. Its a 47re, and the tranny is basically stock from what i can tell. I mean is this normal. Does this happen to others with this tranny, or should i be worried about something. Plaese shine a light on this. I am considering a transgo shift kit too.

well if its normal thats great, but also when im at around 38-39 mph it goes in and out of gear then finally shifts into overdrive around like 43-44, which i know is normal but dont like the whole gear engage/disengage feel i get at 38-39.

What mods have you done to your truck?

I should have clarified that I have a 12V auto not a 24V.

If Im not mistaken there is some sort of fix for the in/out of gear problem. A noise filter. DTT sells them.

or you could be "white" about it and fix it instead of temporarily changing line pressure/ shift points.

i just used foil and a wire cover on the smaller red cable coming off the pass side battery to the alternator and it stoped doing that. worked the same as a noise filter.

More explanation...what is a "wire cover"?
