track bar
i have a new steering stabilizer in the stock position and anotherstearing stabilizer on the lower tie rod to axle i was thinking about getting the steering stabilizer that bolts to the frame that holdes the output shaft of the stearing box
Ya made a good choice goin with DT. I've had one on my truck for a few yrs now and only replaced the heim once. But that's just due to the abuse my trucks gone through in the woods and mud.
Check out this thread for some good info on what your fightin with here. I think the Stabilizer conversation is in here also with pics. https://www.dieselbombers.com/5-9l-2...d-rebuild.html
well it weird it depends on the crown of the road, if im in the right lane were the crown slopes right then she pulles right, if im in the left lane were the crown slopes left she pulls left but not as much as the right, sometime on a flat rope i dont even have to touch the wheel she drives so streight till i hit a pump then it pulles right again
i had a fealing it was my track bar it had axle shift when i found out the track bar the idot put on before my was a 5/8 taper and the one its supposed to be is 3/4 taper, you want to talk about axle shift holy crap that was bad, i will hopefully get my sway bar end links in in the next couple days, i will put those on and see if it dont help, if not im calling next day for a dt profab
I don't pretend to know one way or the other, but in a conversation with the guy that makes the DT trac bar he was tellin me that probably the biggest reason for steering problems he see's in these trucks is the sway bar issues.
Personally, the new steering gear was the single best thing i did went i rebuilt my whole front end. The new springs, links, Boergeson steering shaft and everything else was nice but that steering gear made all the difference in gettin rid of that slop.

If he gets a box he will think the same, but until he replaces the trac bar the steering box wont be as dramatic.
the sway bar is no where near the problem with the dodge steering and handling. like said above the sway bars can be removed with out much of a difference.

well i bit the bullet and ordered my dt profab today but not the other end (GRI) but that will come probably in a week or two i just want to get rid of the damn death wobble and pulling wile im driving, makes my arm tired turning my steering wheel to the left just to go straight all the time

Forget the steering arm and replace the steering gear. I used to go to the doctor for shoulder pain from steering my truck during the busy season. Now I steer with 2 fingers. had to get used to it cause i kept over steering for the first few weeks after the install.
