Cummins QSB 5.9
I am attending a diesel school in Elko, Nevada and i am working on a cummins qsb 5.9 with a vp 30 injection pump. it is a 2005 but it has a 12 valve head. i was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap easy tweaks to get more power out of one. i am thnking of putting twins on it after i get it all put back together.
if this is an industrial block it will be about 60 to 70 pounds heavier due to it having more metal in it, and this makes it ideal for a hot rod engine and should hold up well
these blocks are sometimes refered to as encore blocks

A QSB engine is for industrial apps... Are you sure its a 2005 model? Because they had common rail injection 24 valves.... The 2005 Qsb is rated from 175hp-275hp depending on model I believe.

BTW Just thought of this, is it a front gear case or rear? Rear is useless to you which I'm sure you know, but just covering the bases.

im guessing this is the same engine we have in the yard dog at work, ours is i believe a 2003 with the 12v head but it has what i thought was a vp44 IP, but it could be the vp30 this guy is refering to
. I would swap that electonic crap for a p-pump.

im positive its a 2005 cummins with a 12 valve head. it is an engine for industrial applications. they make a qsb 5.9 with a vp44 and i am pretty sure that it has a 24 v head, but we didnt get one of those.
