Fuel Capacity?
Hi guy's! We we on our way home on our camping trip last weekend and we were running low on fuel.It got down to 1/8 tank and soon after my low fuel light came on.The overhead showed I could still go 73 miles at the current mpg.,but after 30 miles I was below E.Even though I was below the E indicator the overhead still showed about 40 DTE.At about 30 DTE the overhead started to flash low fuel so I pulled over and got 10 gal.of fuel to get me home.I didn't fill up because it was about .20 cents more than at home. Any ways I was just wandering if anyone else had there trucks this low and if you did how much fuel did you have left? Also in my manual it talks briefly about the auxillary fuel. What's this about? Thanks guy's 06 mega 34gal.tank
dont ever trust a dodge fuel guage there the most worthless piece of junks i hade a full tank of fuel on my 94 12v when i bought it but the guage said it was almost empty all i did was replace the sending unit with a universal one from summit at it works great now
well i know one thing i wouldnt let it get that low in anything. you really dont want to push it. your lucky you made it that far. we had an old dakota and when that guage hit 'E' it meant your empty better find a gas station right now. so no i have never had my truck that low.
I have had my DTE meter on 0 for 40kms. Filled the truck at the first fuel station and it took 135L.
I know for one that running any vehicle is bad. Your fuel lubricates and cools your fuel pump in your tank, otherwise you wont be going anywhere. Try too keep at least half a tank in at all times.

On the way to KY this year I ran mine very, very low. The gauge showed below E, the overhead said NO FUEL, the light was flashing and dinging at me. I still showed FP when cruising but when we slowed down it would change to no FP. When I filled up I put 35.9 gallons in my 36 gallon tank. That was way, way to close for comfort. I did not know the next exit with diesel would be so far or I would have never went that low. I do have a draw straw in my tank for my Air Dog so that might have helped but I am not sure.
