Guess What I Did Last Night.......
I met up with a buddy of mine last night, and stacked his smarty on my edge comp!! Cant say i noticed a whole lot of power difference, other than the bottom end was a lil better, but i had my comp on 5x5 and smarty on 8 and i tell ya what.......i fogged for skeeters GOOD!! My clutch did start slipping with them both stacked, i saw a max boost of around 35 PSI and EGTs around 1400 for only a sec. Definitely a nice combo, but was expecting a lil more from the smarty stacked with the Edge.

I'm playin with a Smarty right now stacked with my Comp. I didn't notice much of anything until I tried the Smarty on level 6. It makes the pedal so responsive that if I hit bumps I can feel the truck slow down and speed up with my foot movement over them. It rocks on 6 and leaves almost no smoke at all on my set up. I haven't tried level 8 yet and don't know if I want to. All of this is with the Comp on it's permanent 5X5 setting of course.
Now the drawbacks I've noticed. My EGT's climb as fast as my speed. My trucks never been over 1000 degrees and I can hit that within a few seconds of the hammer pedal. Next is the fuel economy. I am suckin through some serious amounts of fuel. Wonder if that could be a foot control problem though. With the havin to plug and unplug the controller I could see me losin interest after the initial fun time was over and the newness wore off. It would turn into an annoyance that I would just throw in the glove compartment and use for a code reader when I needed it.
I'm still pending playin with it pullin heavy trailers. That would be my make or break decision time since that's when I need that low end power.
All in all, so far it's been a blast to play with and it's amazing how it wakes the mighty Cummins up. Wish it could be left plugged in all time and maybe were a bit more compact but I assume these two things are a necessary evil to accommodate what it needs to.
