Default Pump Questions

I know I'm probably gonna get 100 different opinions, but who makes the best aftermarket VP 44 out there?

It depends on what your goals are. If you just want to run 400-600 hp then I'd say either Industrial Injection's HRVP or Bluechip's pump. I know bluechip will warranty their's even if you tap the wire. Now if you're wanting all out fuel and a tapped line warranty, a monster pump is the way to go. Mo smarter people than me will chime in though.

I'm a Blue Chip fan myself. In particular the VP44 is a part that requires a higher percentage of after the sale service issues then most other parts you'll buy and when it comes to customer service I can say from my own experiance that nobody will go as far out of their way to help as Chip does on a regular basis. Not to mention the fact that if you talk to him on the phone you will find out that he's know's more about these pumps then probably even the designers themselves do.

I would agree on the Blue Chip VP44 and the Industrial Injection SOVP44

I would recommend a blue chips VP44. Stick with an SO pump or jump to a monster pump if your wanting alot of power. For a stock truck with a chip the HRVP is good but once you get past 500hp or so you wont be able to make the top end Hp you would with an SO pump. That is the boat I am in right now

This is the first diesel I've owned so i'm still learning a lot of new things. What do you mean by service issues after installation? Is there a lot of maintenance things you have to do to it over time, and if so, what are they?

Sometimes I hear that even a well rebuilt one will have a problem, thats where the customer service comes in.
If money were no object I'd go with the Blue chip pump.
Money is always an object with me though...so I buy mine from MWFI,got over 200k out of my last one,it's for sale btw

Industrial Injection treated me very well, even slipped me a deal on some injectors with the purchase of my SOVP.

If I have to buy another pump, I will be dealing with II again.

Blue Chip or Industrial Injection..... but the first thing i'd be looking at would be an AirDog fuel system to keep the new VP44 cool and lubricated properly. the factory lift pumps SUCK but if you do anything to boost the power you will exceed the stock lift pumps ability to keep up with the VP.... do yoursself a favor and get an AirDog and never worry about running out of fuel again.....
