Default Difference Between A WH1C And HX35?

i have the WH1C turbo off my 94 and am thinking about putting it back on with my new super phat shft 62 for a custom twin turbo setup. the only problem is that i want the WH1C to have more power. there is a local diesel shop that will turn my turbo into an hx35/40 hybrid with a constant PSI of 50 was just wondering if there was a differnce between the WH1C and the HX35

I would like to know what they do to a HX35 to make it produce 50psi consistantly.

i read this once... i think if you read at holsets web site they tell you the HX's series flows better and i think the shaft might be a bit thicker then the h1c?

they are about the same size. i thought about building a wh1c/h1e hybrid.
it's just the older version hx35/hx40

HX35's would have a different compressor; I think it's a tad bigger, and it has the MWE slots.

I think.

No difference besides the fact that the WH1C is a V-Band Clamp on compressor housing, while the HX35 has a bolted on housing. For twins the WH1C is the better of the two, because you can clock the compressor housing whichever way you want it.

Ok, using your ps62 as abottom turbo and an hx as a top turbo even with it being a hyrid would be a wast of the 62. Hyrid is a 60mm wheel and a ps 62 is well a 62mm wheel,i dont believe you would gain alot if any by doing that, the purpose of having twins is that a small turbo on top is to spool the big bottom turbo. A ps66 would be about as small as you would want on the bottom, and a hybrid on top would be a good set of towing twins, up to about 650-700 hp then i believe you would need a 71 or a big brother on the bottom.

As far as what the local guy can do to an hx i can do that easy, just make it a hybrid for 300.00, butas far as 50 psi constantly, hes smokin crack. I can do 50 with mine but it way out of its range and its not doing anything good, egts climb just as fast at 50 as it does at 40. You would be farther ahead by just running the 62.

You can clock the hx to it has a snap ring for the compressor housing, exhaust housing is bolted. DD

Thanks DD, I forgot about the snap ring, I have mine clocked on the 98 actually to fit the intercooler pipes... Been a while since I bothered to work on one.

HTT makes a kit to do it,its about 300 bucks, replaces everything on the compressor side of turbo, 60mm wheel, backing plate, and housing. Its easier doing one of these than it was my hx, i had to have mine machined, since the backing plate is part of the center section. Will make agood turbo for pump mods only.
