The repair manual says roughly 8 hours. You have to almost strip the axle.
remove: Wheel covers?, tires , calipers, rotors, hub bearings, axle shafts, vacuum shift, other half of pass. side axle, diff. cover, ring and carrier. It helps to take one end of the tierod off the spindle. Sometimes the carrier will come out easy. Other times you have to spread the diff. housing a little, or pry easy. Make sure you put the pieces that hold the carrier in the way they came out. (same side and face the same way)
To install the seals you can buy the tools or find the driver that fits the seal and make your own tool to put the seals in. They call them drivers but you actually pull them in place.
oh , and get an extra set of seals just in case.
Hope this helps, it was a pain when I done mine. Thankfully my Dad had the hoist.
Good Luck!
