Default Veggie oil and 2-Stroke oil mix for S&G's

I just happened to find a half gallon of unused veggie oil while cleaning out the pantry. Looks like its been there for quite a while. Not sure if it goes bad, so for ***** and giggles I mixed it with a half gallon of Super-tech 2 stroke oil. I filled up this morning and added some of my funky brew. My engine really quieted down and runs waaaaay smoother, plus seems to have a little bit more oomph! Hope im not hurting anything. I usually only use 2-stroke oil at recommended ratio. Comments? Anybody else use home-brewed concoctions?

veggie oil has a higher BTU content than diesel fuel. i run my 12v on straight veggie. DONT DO THAT IN YOURS. but mixing it in with the diesel is fine. the problem is the new injection pumps cant handle how thick it is. but its great for engines .
good job

Well, it wasnt WVO, just old unused VO i mixed with walmart 2-stroke oil tcw-3. It worked so well, that I continue to mix with new VO. It seems to do really well with the 1/2 ounce per gallon ratio.

The triglyceride in the oils can do funky things to injectors over time if a high enough quantity is added to the diesel.

Think of it this way, is somewhat like a soap, and think of your injector as a shower. You can get a buildup in the injector like you would soap scum in a shower. I guess a better example would be to look at a fryer. They are covered in brown sludge.

By no means am I saying not to use it, but I would also follow up with some detergents if I were using a home brew of diesel additives for lubricants.

Either 1st gens are to forgiving or too dumb to care. I mix in motor or veggy oil (new or used) up to 50% in the summer. Less in the winter. Both my rigs run happy as pigs in slop on it. The people behind me ain't so happy though

actually, VO has less BTUs then #2 but higher cetain. it is probably the cetain boost he is feeling. allowing it to burn more of the diesel
