Default To KEEP Or SWAP Trucks..... Poll

Here is the situation...

Dad wants a new set of wheels...
he CURRENTLY has a 2005 CTD 3500 SRW quad short bed LARAMIE, Edge juice/attitude loaded with leather, nav unit, sirius, heated seats. auto start, AFE stage 1, spray in bed liner and 63,000 miles

I have a... 2006 2500 4x4 std cab long bed SLT, cloth seats, FBD 5" exhaust, Smarty JR, AFE stage 1 (knock off) B&W G/N hitch, spray in liner, 36,000 miles

He asked me today if If I wanted to trade and he woud sell or trade in whichever truck...

Should I swap?

If I did I would have to swap over the plow brackets & harness, FBD exhaust, and my CB. BUT!! I would lose my G/N hitch and would have to buy another, as well as 2' of bed room to haul brush and such around yet I would gain for towing with the 3500 and tow pkg

Thanks guys
Ian

Good Luck with your decision.

Me personally, the 2005 fits my needs, but they are not neccessaily the same as yours.

I need the quad cab and would love the 3500 capacities.

If you decide to swap. Sounds like a good deal for you... my $.02

More Cab room, more comfort! able to tow more! I would trade for the QC 3500

Good luck with your decision.

It's easy Ian trade for the QC but thats b/c it's not mine . Yours is set up how you want it, has cooler headlights, and already has the hitch. The QC is alot better in options it sounds like though. Do you need the extra cab space enough to give up the bed space?

I need a quad cab long bed!!

A short bed would just mean I would have to trailer a lot more stuff. Every 2 weeks I go to Sams Club and Gordons Food Service and we buy around $2500 worth of food (at GFS) so with the long bed AND 2x12" side boards it is completely full and I have to tie stuff down. not to mention the cab is FULL of the Sams club order.... Summer/Fall the bed is full of Grass clippings and leafs 3x's if not more per week from all the homes (we bag everything)

But you guys are right the QC would be better for towing being 3500 and eventually Ill have offspring as scary as that might be so it would come in handy.

I talked with the old man for a few about the swap and we could just cover the hold in the bed back up with a plate or something along that line. He wants to get back into a SUV.

I guess tomorrow Ill give him the on the swap.

you could always extra cab space to put the food runs in, but you might think twice about the grass clippings
