Default Opinion On This "Vortex" Thing

Just wanted to know what you all thought about this vortex thing they have for sell around the net. I have seen them most here on ebay. I guess this one isnt called the Vortex but there is another one that is. eBay Motors: SAVE GAS +HP Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Cummins Diesel + MPG (item 350039618154 end time Apr-20-08 20:03:10 PDT)

I figured I would ask some people who might know. Only thing I see is a piece of shaped metal that MIGHT help spin the air before the turbo to help it get spinning faster, and from there I would have NO idea how that helps. That or a piece of metal sliding down and getting mangled in the turbo blades

There is no way that would help a turbo charged engine. If you want better MPG let me hook ya up with a set of injectors.

haha I would love to get injectors this summer, but sadly ill have to wait for those. maybe the gov will pay for mine

But no, I wasn't going to buy this, I just wondered if this was actually something that would work. Well shouldn't say wasn't, if I came here and everyone was saying yea it would be helpful then maybe. But to me it looked like just some more crap selling on eBay.

Exactly...those types of "gadgets" have been proven useless on a turbo or supercharged engine. They supposedly work well on naturally aspirated gassers though.

A gimick in my eyes anyway...I would imagine that you would want something opposite of this. The LESS turbulant the airflow, the better...

I put one on my dad's '97 chevy 350 without him knowing. After he filled up the first time and got 1+mpg he asked me if I had done something to his truck. I think it seems to work ok for gas engines but I think there are better ways to spend your money when it comes to a diesel.

I just hope someone doesnt get their inlet spinnin clockwise and there exhause spinnin counterclockwise....................twist the damn truck right in half
