Im looking to sell my 98.5. Looking to get something newer possibly a 2004-07 or maybe an 08 with the 6.7..
I have had tons experience with my 5.9 and its a great engine. I havnt read a whole lot on the 6.7.. im a little concerned with the DPF filter and how often id have to change that? I pull a 19ft ski boat and haul a polaris sportsman once in a while and thats about it.. does the 6.7 get decent mileage like the 5.9?

just dunno which one to get....

 

if the 6.7 is deleted they get real good mpgs. if they are in the stock form not too good.

 

Both readings off the overhead "lie-o-meter" my 06 5.9 got consistently 2-3 mpg better than my dads 08 6.7, even without my programmer

 

My dads 06 5.9 that ive been driving back and forth to college every day gets 25-27 going 65 with no load 18-19 pulling a trailer where as my boss drove a 07 6.7 with a utility bed got around 13-14 highway. Both hand calculated and he's gone through 3 turbos egr coolers something to do with both boiling down to the egr causing problems. He told me when he got it he'd rather have had the 5.9.
