Im looking at a couple different trucks. i have found a 94 cummins with a 6 speed tranny. truck has no rot. good shape. 220k on it, reg cab 8ft bed. I haven't seen it in person but it looks like a good truck. My main question about the truck is since it is a 6 speed and has that low low 1st gear is if i could or should put in a different front and rear axle that has 3.07 gearing. My plan will be to make the 1st granny gear be just like a regular 1st gear and have that 6th gear be a highway gear so i keep engine rpm's down. the axles would cost 1200 for both and come out of a first gen. the front is a dana 61 and the rear is a dana 71. whats everyone think?
